This is more like "Thursday realization" but I had to talk about it today! If you have been feeling emotional (I have cried over breakfast prayers, 3 times at 1 lecture, and even at a bolt of fabric I bought today 😑), more hormonal than usual, having strange and vivid dreams, physically feeling just 'off', or feeling depressed... You are not alone!! And equally important is there is a reason! I remember running into this last year after the Solar Eclipse and the Mercury Retrograde in the fall. Everyone I knew, it seemed, was feeling these things. And nobody knew why! Until I learned about the Mercury Retrograde, I thought I was just alone. It made me feel so much better when I learned there was a reason and just as fast as it came on, it left!! I was stunned and left wanting to learn more! That's when I started a Women's New Moon Circle. I thought why not harness this power of the moon and planets and feel our BEST instead of our worst!? Since then, which include rituals involving cleansing the aura and your space. Journal writing, letting go, self love and goal setting, I have not experienced a dip again. Until....a few weeks ago. I realized - just yesterday! - that we are in the middle of another MERCURY RETROGRADE! and I thought back... I started feeling this way almost to the day it moved (March 22). Sometimes wellness doesn't mean physical health. Sometimes we need to feed our soul with HOPE to regain total health! Sometimes it's hard to have faith in humanity. Sad stories, unfair circumstances, destruction and honestly just hearing those closest to me complain about marriage, everyday life and children (especially teenagers). But you know what? Stop. We don't need it. We don't need to feel hopeless for our future, and for generations to come. Whether it be "this world is going to pot", "just wait til you have a teenager, Ugh!" or predestining (today that's a word) our world's children to grow up to be something or someone they don't have to be! "look at what kind of home they come from... He'll have a hard life", "all teens are disrespectful and lazy", "depression or addiction runs in your family so... Good luck with raising your kids". There are good people in the world! Freely giving - of themselves, their hard work, smiles, money, education, resources, attention, etc. These people are of all ages, races, sexual orientation and religion. I am blessed to have had experiences with some very loving, creative, talented and hard working teenagers. Stop raining on the parade and giving future generations the excuse and reservation to be anything less than their amazing selves that make the world a better place. Be Unapologeticly you and bless those around you with not a second thought about how it will make you look or feel. Have hope. Faith. And most of all be full of peace, love and light from above. I actually have mine on the top of my stove sitting beside my brewers yeast and egg powder (topics on those to come). And goes right along my salt & pepper. It contains 2 parts Alfalfa and 1 part Nettles. I grind up the powder and placed it in a big shaker bottle (save those empty spice bottles!!) I'm talking about the amino acid and collagen rich Gelatin. Why I consider Gelatin one of my staple super foods! Hormone balance: the amino acids in gelatin play a large told in metabolic rate, thyroid function and hormone production. °It offsets the effects of excess estrogen in the body as a result if too much exposure to xenoestrogens. °It promotes optimal thyroid health by balancing amino acids, Tryptophan & Cysteine, that inhibit thyroid function. °Reduces stress by restricting those amino acids. Gelatin can then more effectively combat stress hormones. Improve digestion: because gelatin remains hydrophilic (water loving) even when heated, it aids digestion of cooked food. Raw food tends to be hydrophilic & is easier to digest because it blends well with digestive juices. Also- the Glycine stimulates stomach acid production therefore improving digestion. Detoxification: the amino acid Glycine assists the liver with its housecleaning duties. The ability of the liver to do its job sufficiently is limited by the amount of Glycine that is available. It's obvious why we should provide it with all we can!! ~Given the toxicity of our world today the huge amount of Glycine in the diet is crucial with the nearly constant detoxification that is required to maintain health~ Suggestions for using gelatin: first and foremost bone broth - "Nature's Multivitamin". If you aren't a broth drinker you can add it to anything! Replace water for broth in recipes, add to gravies, etc! Or you can use a good quality gelatin powder. I wanted to show you what my "normal" life is like. My business life vs motherhood. While yes, we usually eat healthy (and at the table together), we take all those wonderful herbs & supplements I post about (if I can find or remember them), I get up early in the morning before my kids and do yoga... Alone.. In silence. I usually like to have a clean house (and kill myself trying to keep it clean), and I blog regularly for the love of my business (and most days it is extremely hard!! )... With 2 under 3 it's just not reality for me to have everything perfect and feel great. And I'm trying to learn that it's OK Right now I'm reading a couple books about keeping life simple. Being ok with "good enough". And being content! To be clear, I do not have a problem with thinking I NEED to do it all and BE all to everyone and everything. But I actually enjoy it! However..... When I start getting stressed and distressed (meaning I no longer enjoy it and my priorities, aka my family, starts to suffer and pick up on the result of my overactive adrenals) it's time to take a step back and #keepitreal. Maybe we'll forgo the "gourmet" meal tonight and have pancakes or leftovers, maybe I'll skip makeup today and make this a learning moment to show my kids about having a healthy self image and self esteem!
