Yes, we're talking Magnesium again! Why?? Because it all starts with magnesium! For years.. Years! I've been using magnesium to get rid of cramps (hello pregnancy aches and pains) or hiccups (including in utero) .... But they were still happening. Remember you need to get to that cell saturation level! That's the key. As well as meeting that mineral triangle and gut health (but we're talking about Magnesium today).
When your Magnesium level is set, you are now absorbing and utilizing all of the nutrients you are taking in.. Which in turn then lowers inflammation, gives mental clarity, increases energy, improves sleep, circulation and heart health (and sooooooo much more)!
I do NOT post anything I do not 100% believe in, have experienced myself or others or recommend.
I DO believe (and start my clients off with) in a clean slate. Meaning a solid, stable foundation. Healthy gut and complete system, to build off from.
Just think about the fish tank analogy I posted a few days ago. It makes zero sense to me to medicate, supplement, workout, etc on a "dirty" tank and treat the symptoms. Magnesium can get you to that "clean slate".

Vitamin D! Why did I choose this topic for today? It is a Godsend! Let me start by painting you a little picture..
When my son was 8m old he was #teething and a friend said "hey have you tried vitamin d?" I hadn't. I started that day and by the next WEEK he had 4 teeth! So when my daughter was born I knew to start right off the bat with vit D. Before she was a year old she had 8 teeth! And they came in good! I ran out of D (supplement) and I just didn't get any more. I thought "eh, she's just a good teether, I'm giving her plenty from raw milk and foods and sunshine".. Wrong. Fast fwd a few months and she had been going on month 2 of teething molars (can you hear the dread in my voice?). Maybe it wasn't a coincidence and I started vit D again.. 3 days later.. 3 a MOLAR popped through and 4 days after that the other came through. And so a blog post is born.
Let's learn a little about this "sunshine vitamin" - Vitamin D is known for the regulation of calcium & phosphorus to maintain bone strength and development (hello teething). As well as proper #Thyroid function, strong nervous system, regulating cardiac rhythms and supporting immune system
Did you know? When skin is exposed to UVB rays it has the capacity to make 10,000 IU's of D in 30 min?! HOWEVER, to be able to saturate the amount we need, because of the synthesizing & saturation process, we'd have to lay out at noon, naked, for 30 min. But that's not very rational. Especially when you consider smog, pollution and winter months (no sun,lower immune system). So what do we do?
Diet- Aim for 2-5,000 IU's/day. Favorite is a high quality Cod liver oil
Supplement- Vit D3, which is derived from fish. Favorite is Carlson Brand drops
1- Consume healthy fats. D is a fat soluble vit. It is crucial for proper functioning. Favorite is Coconut oil
2- Maintain a healthy gut. Poor gut health can cause binding of D making it unusable. Favorites are fermented foods and high quality #probiotics (Biokult, PrescriptAssist)
3- #Magnesium. It is crucial for converting D to its hormone form Calcitriol. If you're low in Mag, it cannot be properly used. If fact, you mag levels will actually drain from muscles (#legcramps, #restless) Favorite is LTGLN Mag products

This week our assignment is adding 21 lbs of wheat to what will be your #bucketfoodstorage!
Now, I have a love hate relationship with storing wheat or wheat berries. I want the convenience of flour (already ground, hello!) however... Wheat will store practically forever and keep its purest form while flour will not store as long and will lose its nutritional value over time.
You can buy a relatively inexpensive grain mill (if you're local, Smithfield Implement (and similar stores) has a semi annual sale every year and mark mills way down)!
*If you plan to rotate and use the grain or flour within 5 years I stick a gamma lid on the bucket and call it good.
*If you want long term storage (in am organized bucket system) mylar bags are the way to go. This blog post from Prepared Housewives is awesome
*if you want to just keep it in the bag you got it from, fine.. But keep mice and water in mind (paper or plastic sacks don't make for long long term storage)

Who am I following today? Back in September I couldn't ignore the power of the Lunar phases any more! And I decided instead of dreading the full moons and the sometimes feelings of instability that comes with them, I decided to *harness* that power for my good and guess what, it is LEGIT. This @foreverconscious is my go to for all things lunar!! I absolutely love her new and full moon rituals! They are part of our monthly New Moon Circles and have honestly made me a better woman.

🌹 Self Care 🌹
I listened to a podcast a few weeks ago on self care (#harshepodcast#11) that has stuck with me. The funny thing is before that and before *giving myself permission*, I could NOT do these things for myself without feeling guilt!! But then something inside me changed. I took off my "guilt glasses" and put on my "superwoman spectacles" (it's all about changing your lens!!) and I started seeing it in a different way.
You truly cannot drink from an empty cup. Meaning you cannot be the Superwoman (or Superman) you ARE unless you feed that inner person. They need strength, love, and spiritually.... Or there is not enough strength, love or spirituality to give (ya see?).
But how do I not feel guilty about being doing things for me? I felt guilt about wanting to break free *ahem I mean* escape... I mean take a little self care time out for me as soon as my husband walked in the door from work. I didn't feel guilty about leaving my kids. I felt guilty that I was leaving him as soon as he got home from a very long day at work.. I told myself he was probably thinking I was selfish... Didn't he need a break too!?etc (guess what, he's not). I felt a knot in my gut every time. I couldn't even enjoy what I was doing!
So I changed my perspective. I had been feeling so worn down but then guilt on top of that. I literally couldn't take care of my family the way I needed to until I took care of myself! Recognizing that. And also asking my husband if he got his self care for the day (just asking him was for my self care!)
I now can almost out of habit, take 10 min in the morning (yes the kids are awake.. In their beds... But mommy is starting the day with strength. Going and buying a new pair of pants (money will find a way!), yoga (even if kids are climbing on up your tree pose) or even just hiding in the Pantry for a few min with headphones in and chocolate in hand.
Promise me you'll go and recharge. The world needs you❤️
This is more than marketing Monday to me. This is why I started my whole journey into the holistic and spiritual world of healing. After suffering with infertility (and all that comes with it! for years, a door was opened to me that not only made it possible to become pregnant and bear my 2 children but changed my whole life.
First, what is Reiki?? a Japanese energy modality that may seem difficult for the logical mind to understand, but that is because, in the western world, we tend to comprehend only what we can see. When we look at the human body, we see the biological aspects of bones, skin, hair etc. as well as the chemical components of blood and hormones- so it makes sense that doctors note measurements of hormone levels, follicle development, anatomic abnormalities and other patterns during the work-up of infertility. BUT (and here's the big flip that switched on the light for me) researchers have proven that we also embody an energy component. Energy exists within each cell and between each cell - our subtle matter. This energy, when blocked or diminished, can cause imbalances or disease in the body, including fertility problems keeping a woman from becoming pregnant.
How can Reiki help?
~ Support growth of follicles and fertilization of eggs and assisting the embryo to implant.
~ Provides emotional & mental balance. It is very discouraging to be told you should give up when you've felt empowered to manifest a family! The negativity permeates into your emotional & energetic fields that create more blocks.

These are some of my favorite herbs to help with inflammation! Now, there are other things that we can do to help with inflammation like getting our Magnesium levels corrected, moving the lymph, swimming, and others but just by incorporating these into your daily diet is going to do your body good!

1 quart of warm water
1/2 large lemon
1/2 tsp organic turmeric
1-2 pinches of cayenne (or 4-6 drops of tincture)
2 tablespoons ACV (Braggs or organic with Mother)
4 heaping Tablespoons of raw local honey
Drink a cup every morning on an empty stomach. Do not microwave. Warm assists kidneys but can drink cold. If needed, use 1/2 tsp of baking soda to help with heartburn
