#wellnesswednesday Stinging Nettle
Today's tip and topic is on our next super ingredient in my favorite Holy Grail blend!
🌿 Stinging Nettle! 🌿
Known as the "Beast with a heart of gold". Nettles are packed with Calcium (hello help for growing pains!) and have a whopping amount of vitamin A. Also rich in Iron and vitamin K which makes it an outstanding remedy for anything blood related - halting bleeding, cleansing blood of impurities or building blood I'm cases of Anemia.
It's also rich in silicon, potassium and very absorbable protein.
Nettles create a diuretic action due to flavonoids & high potassium. Increases urine production but encourages the pull of toxins from cells for elimination by kidneys.
You'll use Nettles when you want to tone the whole body. For example, diarrhea, hemorrhaging, suppressing milk supply, jaundice.
° It is said that the Roman Nettle was planted by Cesar's soldiers. They did not have pants thick enough to keep them warm in the cold, raw fogs. So they picked Nettle and rubbed it on them, and their legs burned and smarted for the rest of the day.
° It is interesting—amazing actually, that God is so good—to note that wherever Nettles grow in the wild there will be, growing right at the feet of this very irritating and itch-causing plant, a plant which when rubbed on the skin completely eliminates any rash or itching. In the Cache Valley area, where I am from, that plant is called Galium and is always right there with the Nettles. Plantain, often nearby, is also effective against Nettles sting.
