#fridayfollow
Who am I following today? @mothertomotherpostpartum Why? Because I know how extremely important postpartum care is. I have 2 children and after an extremely hard time after my first was born - with breastfeeding, with depression and anxiety and with severe derealization disorder - I was so afraid of he same thing happening after my second was to be born, that I was more nervous about the postpartum than actually giving birth! (which was actually a planned, natural homebirth. So that's how disracted I was by my fear!). After my 2nd was born, it was better, because I had some things in place, but still not as good and full of support as it could have been. I am so thankful for this group and idea because it NEEDS to exist!! There is no reason why we should abandon the idea of support and strength from your "village". None. I am excited to be a new volunteer for this initiative. I have already committed myself to being there for women before getting pregnant, during pregnancy, and now after! Strength in numbers. Let us judge not, and instead, raise each other up. No reservations or conditions! This is my prayer for womanhood. Please share and support this cause. Always. #strength #postpartumsupport #pregnancy #ppd #ittakesavillage #noshame #womanhood #calling #reiki #savelives #friendship #postpartumbody #postpartum #breastfeedingsupport #postpartumdepression
