This week our assignment is adding 15 lbs of Dried Beans to your food storage! . Remember to store in a bucket, mylar food safe bag inside of a bucket or tin #10 cans. There is a little more that goes into preparing and cooking dried beans over canned but don't be overwhelmed! Just plan. Rinse well, cover with cold water and soak for 6 hours or overnight to soften. Transfer beans to a soup pot and add water to cover by 1 inch. Add veggies and spices like onion, bay leaf, bacon and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a low simmer, partly cover pot with lid, and cook for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Keep it up!
