Yesterday I visited a place I haven't been in a long while. I had feelings return of inadequacy, self consciousness, uneasiness, and I didn't know where my confidence went!
Just as quickly as it had disappeared, it returned, thankfully. But I know it's only because I have learned to practice daily.
*Quiet that voice. You know that one that tears you down, makes you second guess yourself, compares you to others, and can be very loud!
*Stick it to that voice! Not only quiet that voice but fight back. If that voice tells you that your not good enough of a singer.. You show it up and shut it up by turning around and belting it out in front of an audience! If it tells you you don't have the body to wear that.. You put that pair of jeans on and wear them proudly, you sexy beast!
*Speak that beautiful mind of yours. Do you ever hear that voice say "that was stupid" after you said something? Or "that was embarrassing", "you don't know enough to give someone that advice", "that wasn't helpful or thoughtful or funny at all, just keep your thoughts to yourself next time, dummy". Remember that YOU have a wonderful gift to share to others! Never keep it to yourself it comes from a good place, from the Spirit or from your heart and with good intentions! Never! You might be the answer to somebody else's prayer.

Most importantly -

*Be YOU and LOVE HER/HIM! look at the picture. Picture in your mind that innocent little child you once were, that awkward teenager you once were, close your eyes, and reach out to them. What would you tell them now? What would you, as a mother, as a friend, tell them in their insecurities? That they are perfect!
Nothing has changed.

Remember that person. Let them out. And never be apologetic for the greatness inside of you. Let it be your superpower.
It is that easy
