This week our assignment is adding 5lbs of powdered milk to food storage.

This is something I love having in storage. It is truly an emergency saver. I usually drink raw milk but have had occasions where we ran out and it was needed for cooking or for my kids to drink and I had nothing! I then remembered I had some in food storage and was able to use that in an emergency situation. It was so nice to feel "saved"! To feel proud that I had prepared earlier so my family was now blessed.

You can use a 5 gallon bucket, canning method or mylar bag method. Or my favorite-a combo.
I plan to have a bucket (or #10 can) and pack some in a mylar bag for transport if I need.

This week our assignment is adding 1-2 changes of clothing, per person /per season, to your emergency storage.

I have found it nice to take clothes that no longer fit and put it in for the next child or find clothes on clearance (especially in the off season!) and stick them in there.
Just remember to update every 6 or so months.
And remember layers, thermals, sweatshirts, socks, lots of socks, rtc
