I had a totally different post written out for today (the part 2 of part 1 last week) but I always, always follow my intuition and spirit guides for the posts and today I felt inspired to post something different than what I started out with! That is putting toxic people away. Out of your life. Sorry if that sounds harsh, dramatic or extreme but I'm talking about after you've tried to give the benefit of the doubt, changing your lens and showing compassion, praying for them (that in itself is the healing!). Those who continue to make you second guess yourself, manipulate, make you question who you are when you KNOW who you are and love that person you are! Remember yesterdays post? Recognizing that beautiful, wonderful person you are, who was born about as close to perfect as can be?! Embracing YOU and living FREELY! *ah that feels good* So refresh your life! So today we will talk about Cortisol. What is it? Cortisol is a #hormone that is released during stress. It is made in the #adrenal glands (stress = hello #Adrenalfatigue!) What does it affect? Everything. Very truly. To name a few- inflammation, fatigue, hormone imbalance, metabolism, blood sugar, Insomnia, low libido (DHEA). Speaking of DHEA, chronic stress will keep you from losing weight no matter how much you exercise or how well you eat? That goes for many other functions, like sexual function, #infertility and #depression, as well! Before you put the "Not Welcome" sign up - did you know that we actually need some cortisol? True! It is essential for human health. Such as immune system, metabolism, blood pressure, and cardiovascular function. We just need a *balance*. So how do I balance cortisol? Really, that's up to you! Think. What brings YOU joy? Those things will bring your cortisol down. Comfort food. Smells- particularly coffee, cinnamon and vanilla have shown to lower cortisol. Reading- did you know studies have shown that reading while wrapped up in a soft blanket lower anxiety, depression and stress significantly better than those who don't?? 📙 Honey, salt, coconut oil. Or a nice warm mug of magnesium packed Crio Bru! #Triedandtrue Yesterday and today I think my cortisol was at an all time high. I felt physically horrible as well as my brain felt fried. I was short with my kids and I felt like crashing. I knew I needed immediate action. I took a dropper full of #rescueremedy, sat down, deep breathed and meditated (for only even 10- 20min!) for the last 10 min I used #solfeggio tuning forks and ended with a cup of Crio Bru. And I feel 100% different. I feel my mind is blank. I feel almost giddy. I feel calm. I truly believe meditation and tuning forks can change the world (part 2 post next week). Last thoughts : Be kind to yourself. Your health is the priority. Your digestion, mental health and physical health are only as healthy as your cortisol. First you'll start to notice a sense of openness in your body. Then by, let's say, about your 3rd class you'll start to get the hang of breath control. It'll feel forced and awkward but you're doing your body & energy a huge favor! As this is a big part in releasing trapped emotions! "ok this is getting really nice, kinda cool". Soon you'll start noticing things during everyday situations- like reacting to stress differently. Stay in these heart opening positions & sit in the emotions happening. About a few weeks to a month, you'll start noticing you're actually stronger! "but wait, I haven't even lifted weights?!" (Chaturangas anyone?) You'll start actually craving yoga! Did I just say "wait, I gotta do yoga first" Another surprise statement you will make is "no thank you fries". You're body has reached a higher vibration & you no longer crave those fatty and sugary foods. Those twist poses are helping your digestion! Your balance is fantastic, sleep, digestion and way of life. Confidence! Vibrance! You now float with grace into those difficult poses. Ever see those 70yr old Yogis? It all starts somewhere. At some point in their life. A decision. A commitment. A goal. Where do you want to be in 20yrs? Look like, feel like? Don't claim or accept lifestyle/genetics/illness you don't want! It's all choice. Emily Morwen said "understand that if we approach each pose with a beginners mind-with intention & presence- it's the way to help to keep your love of yoga alive!" and allow the changes within to take place. Guess what? Reiki makes the same healing (minus the physical strength as fast) happen! Did you know that? Just a different way! I use Downdog app. I also love the Yoga Journal #downdogapp #subconcioushealing #yogajournal #yoga #namaste This week our assignment is adding 21 lbs of Rice to what will be your #bucketfoodstorage, #masonjarfood storage or #mylarfoodstorage Last month we talked about storing our grains and oats in buckets (and a little in mylar bags). Let's talk about another way to store- vacuum sealing Mason jars. I love the bucket method for these grains because you are storing a TON. However, if you ever need to hightail it because, God forbid, an energy evacuation or simply because you'd like to take some camping, or road trip (hello ready meals for Thermal cooker! *another post for another day*), you can just pop a Mason jar full of rice (or beans, oats, etc) in your cooler (unless you want to carry a very heavy bucket with you). Here is a link to a great video on storing rice in Mason jars (below) If you have a Food Saver machine this will be extremely easy and most importantly... Non overwhelming! (our goal). If you don't, stick to mylar bags or Bucket storage. Again, some reminders- *If you plan to rotate and use the grain or flour within 5 years I stick a gamma lid on the bucket and call it good. *If you want long term storage (in am organized bucket system) mylar bags are the way to go. Blog post from Prepared Housewives is awesome *if you want to just keep it in the bag you got it from, fine.. But keep mice and water in mind (paper or plastic sacks don't make for long long term storage) *If you are using the Mason jar method and live in an Earthquake zone, prepare and protect accordingly.
